Every hire is a culture decision. When a team is this small, the next person changes the default rhythm — how we argue, what we ship on a Tuesday afternoon, whether a release waits an extra day because someone pushed back. So we move slowly on purpose, and accept that slowness costs us reach.
Hires happen almost entirely through the work. A client engineer we respected for two years, a collaborator we kept emailing after a project wrapped, a designer who flagged a problem we were too close to see. We have never run a public hiring round, and we do not maintain a standing careers board.
When we do pay attention, it is to generalists who actually ship, operators who move between markets without translating politics into hesitation, and people who write clearly — writing is how remote trust is earned here. If that reads like you, say so in a short email.
